Session II: Qur’an Teaching Strategies for Elementary, Middle, and High School Students
Sound Vision Canada is delighted to offer the second session of a two-part online learning series featuring education consultant Abir Catovic. Our goal is to provide educators with effective strategies for supporting Muslim children and youth in developing a lifelong relationship with the Qur’an. This workshop series offers a practical, step-by-step approach to teaching the Qur’an for students of all levels. Participants will learn about the importance of teaching correct Qur’an reading, supporting effective memorization, and establishing the habit of consistent Qur’an engagement. The sessions will explore strategies for teaching key vocabulary words and simple Arabic language concepts as foundations for understanding, enabling students to gradually develop valuable translation skills. In addition, the workshop will address how to teach the meaning and stories related to Qur’anic passages in age-appropriate and engaging ways, and how to guide students toward applying Qur’anic teachings in their daily lives. Educators and parents will leave with clear guidelines, practical tools, and inspiring methods to help students not only recite the Qur’an accurately, but also understand it, reflect upon it, and allow it to shape their character and actions. We are pleased to offer the session’s video recording and slides to all registered participants. These resources will be shared within a week after the event, insha Allah.
Please note that these sessions are intended to provide instructional guidance for parents, Qur’anic Studies educators, and all those involved in children’s Islamic education.
A Sound Vision Canada Certificate of Completion will be issued to the attendees who participate in Parts 1 and 2.
