In partnership with Gibraltar Leadership Academy, Sound Vision Canada is delighted to offer a one-day teacher training program with experts Imam Belal Ahmad and Uzma Ahmed.

The interactive workshops explore Prophetic Pedagogy as well as the Sahabi Framework, a practical six-stage approach that transforms the teaching of the Companions into a journey of personal growth, personality formation, and character development. 

Acquire practical strategies that can be applied across Islamic Studies, Qur’an, Seerah, assemblies, mentoring, and wider school life.

A Sound Vision Canada certificate will be issued upon completion of the program. Educators, school administrators, homeschooling parents, and aspiring teachers are all welcome. This training is open to full-time, part-time, and weekend Islamic School teachers, as well as anyone passionate about Islamic education.
Training Modules:

Spiritual Preparation of the Teacher

  • Principles of Islamic Pedagogy
  • Prophetic Pedagogy in action: Deriving strategies from the interactions of Rasulullah (pbuh) and the Sahabah (ra)
  • Bringing Prophetic Pedagogy to our classrooms: Considerations and practical tips for the new school year

From Knowledge to Character

  • Understanding how the lives of the Sahabah can serve as a framework for character formation
  • Designing learning experiences that move students from acquiring knowledge to developing Islamic values, attitudes, and behaviours
  • Practical classroom strategies that encourage students to reflect on, internalize, and emulate the noble qualities of the Sahabah, equipping them to become positive contributors to their families, schools, and communities

Imam Belal Ahmad is an Islamic scholar, school administrator, and khateeb. He currently serves as the principal of an elementary school within the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. In addition to his role in education, he runs an after-school maktab program at a local masjid in Hamilton and regularly delivers khutbas at various masajid in the area. Imam Belal is also a director of the Canadian Council of Muslim Theologians (CCMT), where he leads the organization’s education department.

Uzma Ahmed is currently the Director of Education and Training at the Institute of Integrated Knowledge and is responsible for the 5D Thinking Model training program. She brings 25 years of experience as an educational consultant, school principal, curriculum developer, researcher in Islamic education, and teacher trainer for schools worldwide. She also conducts courses on the Qur’an and Seerah and regularly writes material for children of all ages on various topics, with a special focus on Islamic history and Tarbiyah.
