DESCRIPTION:Bringing Barakah and Joy into Your Classroom \nAugust 26 & 27\, 2023 \n10 am – 4 pm \nISNA Canada\, Education Centre\, 2200 S Sheridan Way\, Mississauga\, ON L5J 2M4 \nMark your calendars for August 26 & 27\, 10 am – 4 pm! In collaboration with ISNA Canada\, we’re delighted to offer a two-day teacher training experience with experts Dr. Fadwa Elashi\, Rola El-Roz\, and Inas Abusheikha. \n\nWhy are we training teachers? We’re training them so that children attending weekend Islamic school:\n\n\n1. Fall in love with our Creator and feel attached in their hearts to our deen.\n2. Feel a strong bond with their caring teachers.\n3. Want to come back to weekend Islamic school!\n\n\nTraining Modules:\nSpiritual Preparation of the Teacher\nNurturing the Whole Child\nBuilding a Positive Classroom Culture\nDesigning Engaging Lessons\n\n\nTraining Learning Objectives:\n1. To learn about the teaching qualities of the Prophet (PBUH)\n2. To engage in self-reflection\n3. To learn how to engage the whole child and develop purposeful\, creative lessons\n4. To learn strategies we can use to develop a positive classroom culture\n5. To learn how to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom\n6. To introduce a framework for classroom behaviour management\n7. To share experiences and practical knowledge\n8. To encourage ongoing steps towards personal and spiritual growth\n\n\nAll Islamic school educators are welcome to attend! Please note that attendance on August 26 &27 is the first step in earning a Sound Vision Canada teacher training certificate. Participants will be eligible for the next phase in our teacher training program.\n\n\n\nDr. Fadwa Elashi is a former assistant professor of developmental psychology with five years of experience teaching courses on Educational Psychology\, Learning Through Play\, and Child Development. She has published several peer-reviewed research articles in the field of child development and often reviews manuscripts for consideration for publication in major academic journals. Her profound passion for fostering optimal and equitable learning environments for all children is what drove her to establish Nectar Education. \nRola El-Roz earned her specialized Honours Bachelor of Science degree in statistics\, math and geography from the University of Toronto in 2012. She completed her Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at Western University in 2015. In 2016\, she applied these skills at ISNA High School\, and in 2019\, she became the vice-principal at Suffah Academy where she gained leadership experience while working with children in JK – Grade 8. Furthermore\, Rola completed her Montessori Casa training which is designed for children aged 3-6 years. Rola also has experience working in the Halton District School Board since 2017. She is the co-founder of 3arably\, an initiative that supports educators in the MENA region through connecting them with students to teach in North America. \nInas Abusheikha is a trilingual mother passionate about children’s education and morally centred entertainment. She has been teaching for the past 15 years and is an experienced trainer on teaching second languages. Through Journey with Inas\, she leads a variety of programs\, courses for educators\, and of course\, her Arabic educational children’s show\, Fusحa!  \nPlease note that on both days\, refreshments will be provided and a lunch option will be available for sale.
