SUMMARY:You'll Always Be My Baby: Parenting Adult Children
DESCRIPTION:Sound Vision Canada is pleased to present an online workshop for parents with adult children\, featuring Asra Fatima\, Certified Parent Coach. \nWorkshop Outline: \nWhy Parents Are Never Irrelevant: Even Grown Children Need A Secure Base \n\n Acknowledging the fitrah Allah has created in us to be bonded to our parents.\n Adult children still need their parents\, but differently: steadiness\, acceptance\, and a place to land\, not direction or control.\nWhat security looks like in the parent of adult children: regulated\, consistent\, non-reactive\, not needing to be agreed with to stay connected.\nBeing available without overpowering: offering support vs steering our children.\n Building a secure attachment with Allah so we can tolerate distance and disagreement without panic or dysregulation.\n\nChanging Roles: From Authority to Companionship \n\n What shifts when children gain autonomy\, move out\, marry\, and become parents themselves.\nThe move from manager to consultant\, and from decision-maker to trusted guest in their lives.\nThe grief underneath: feeling less needed\, wondering where we fit.\n Grounding in tawakkul in letting go of outcomes.\n\nThe recording and presentation slides will be shared with all those who register\, insha Allah. \nAsra Fatima is a Certified Parent Coach and the founder of Tarbiya Tools. She designs workshops and community programs for Muslim families. She has worked alongside Sakeenah Canada\, Nisa Support\, and Al Falah School. \n*IMPORTANT* We will be sharing the Zoom link with registrants via email shortly before the event (after 5PM EST on November 12).
