SUMMARY:Nurturing the Heart of the Homeschooling Home
DESCRIPTION:Homeschooling is more than an educational choice—it is a family lifestyle rooted in a dedicated mindset. \nIn this Sound Vision Canada online session with Munazza Mukri\, we will explore: \nThe Homeschooling Family’s Mindset \nHow to set realistic expectations\, avoid burnout\, and cultivate patience while navigating the daily rhythms of homeschooling. \nDe-schooling and Transitioning  \nThe process of de-schooling and transitioning from traditional education to a home-based approach to learning. \nIntegrating Life Skills \nHow everyday experiences can become meaningful learning opportunities by incorporating practical skills such as cooking\, gardening\, household management\, and financial literacy. \nTogether\, we will focus on creating a peaceful\, balanced homeschool environment that nurtures the whole family\, insha Allah. \nThe workshop is open to homeschoolers\, aspiring homeschoolers\, and all interested community members. \nCan’t join live? The recording and presentation slides will be shared with all those who register\, insha Allah. \nMunazza Mukri is one of the co-founders of Toronto Muslim Homeschoolers (TMH) and has been an educator for over 30 years\, teaching and mentoring hundreds of children and families throughout her career. As an educator\, her passion lies in reviving Muslim identity in children through history\, cultural diversity\, and nature studies. She strives to cultivate a sense of awe\, wonder\, and appreciation for the wisdom and majesty of Allah\, nurturing both the minds and hearts of young learners. Alongside her work in education\, Munazza also runs a small catering business and offers homeschooling workshops and mentoring\, supporting families throughout their educational journeys. She lives in Mono\, Ontario\, with her husband and three children\, ages 24\, 23\, and 16. \n*IMPORTANT* We will be sharing the Zoom link with registrants via email shortly before the event (after 5PM EDT on June 18).
