SUMMARY:Qur’an Teaching in Action: From Theory to Practice
DESCRIPTION:Sound Vision Canada is excited to announce another enriching online workshop with Sr. Abir Catovic. The Building a Lifelong Connection with the Qur’an program hosted earlier this year provided a framework for the effective teaching of the Qur’an. Join us for a more hands-on online workshop where various types of lessons will be demonstrated for different age groups. What does a vocabulary lesson typically look like for an elementary level student\, middle school student\, high school student? What about a tafseer session or reflection session? How do you talk about surahs that describe hell or other difficult topics? Participants are encouraged to bring lesson plans to share and discuss and questions that they may have about the Qur’an teaching methodology or teaching challenges that they may encounter while teaching the divine revelation. \nWe look forward to you joining us in this practical workshop that will boost your confidence and knowledge to help you and your students build a lifelong connection with the Qur’an\, insha Allah. \nAbir Catovic has over 30 years of experience in Islamic education. She holds a Master’s in Education Leadership from Harvard University. She developed an early elementary Islamic Studies curriculum\, and co-founded a full-time Islamic school.
